Christian Counseling Intensives

Intensive Christian Counseling in Chambersburg, PA

You know you would benefit from counseling, but you just haven’t been able to fit it in. Even if you managed one session, you can’t see how you could consistently attend each week with everything that’s on your plate. When you start to think about it, it just adds to your stress, so you put it on the back burner… again.

Anxiety, stress, and feeling burned out is becoming too much. Weekly sessions don’t seem like quite enough for what you’re going through. You know you need to do something. But how can you make it work?

You’ve tried praying more, going through devotionals, taking time for yourself, going for coffee with friends, getting your nails done… but it barely scrapes the surface of relieving the mental, emotional, and physical exhaustion.

Whether your struggle is stemming from compounded issues that have built up over time, you’re feeling paralyzed over making a certain decision or moving forward in life, or you’ve experienced a difficult or traumatic event that seems to have stopped you in your tracks, Christian Intensive Counseling can jumpstart your path toward hope and healing.

Matthew 11:28-30 says “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

You don’t have to go it alone.

Trying to get unstuck while still managing life each day is HARD. Giving yourself a chunk of time and space away from the norm gives you the opportunity to fully focus on moving past the issues you’re stuck in.

If your burden feels too heavy today, I invite you to lay it at the feet of Jesus where you will find rest.

My Therapy Intensives are a unique counseling experience in that they provide a mini therapeutic retreat without the distractions of daily life - all from a biblical perspective.

No matter your situation, there is hope.

Imagine having time away to gain new perspective, get clarity, learn new skills to support your goals, and create a plan for moving forward. You’re encouraged to create extra space around your intensive session to prepare ahead and reflect afterward.

The work done in the session is just the beginning. You will be equipped with tools you can use to cultivate the real changes as you transition back into your daily life.

If you have the opportunity, taking an extra day to yourself after the intensive gives you a chance to do a little more self-care, spend time in scripture and prayer, and prepare for your next steps in life.

My Approach
What is a Counseling Intensive?

Intensive Christian Counseling is an in depth way to accelerate your journey toward healing. Rather than going to counseling for an hour session once a week, you would attend a longer session for a short period of time. It allows for a deep-dive into the root issue with focused work toward your goal.

Counseling Intensives are like a personal therapeutic retreat, customized to your unique situation, needs, and goals. This is offered as a package to allow for a comprehensive experience and best outcomes.

As your counselor, I will take the information you provide through the intake materials and the pre-intensive workbook to curate therapeutic interventions, scripture, and other resources that will help you break through to find hope and healing, along with a plan forward.

The Intensive Counseling Package includes:

  1. Pre-Intensive Digital/Printable Workbook to help you prepare for your intensive session and start the therapeutic journey through gaining self-awareness.

  2. or 2 day Counseling Intensive: 4 hours per day (2 hours in morning, 2 hours in afternoon with breaks, including 1-hour break for lunch)

  3. 60 minute Post-Intensive Session to evaluate progress and plan next steps for ongoing goals, along with supportive materials.

  4. 90 day post-intensive action plan to keep you focused and on track toward your goals.

Why do intensive therapy over traditional hourly counseling?

  • Your schedule does not allow for attending weekly or biweekly appointments.

  • You’re currently attending weekly therapy but feel like having a longer chunk of time would allow you to tackle a specific issue that is keeping you stuck.

  • You want to “get away” for a day or two to really focus on your specific issue or goal without distraction.

  • You’re really struggling in the day-to-day with anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, or other difficulty and would like to experience results in a shorter amount of time than weekly therapy would provide.

  • You have experienced a difficult or traumatic event, either recently or in the past - such as separation/divorce, death of a loved one, abuse, a destructive relationship, a disaster (fire, accident, etc), or other life-altering event.

  • You are struggling spiritually and want to deep-dive into your questions or situation from a biblical perspective.

FAQs

What is the cost?

1-day Intensive: $980

2-day Intensive: $1500

Insurance is not accepted for intensives. The benefit of paying out of pocket is that no diagnosis is required, there is greater confidentiality as your information will not be submitted to an insurance company, and it will not go on your medical record.

A therapy intensive can be more cost-effective than traditional therapy in that it saves on weekly time traveling to appointments and can provide faster results that can take months through traditional therapy.

How do I know if Christian Intensive Counseling is right for me?

This is right for you if you are a Christian woman who:

  • Desires to learn what the Bible says about you and your situation

  • Is ready and willing to learn new ways of thinking, acting, and reacting

  • Motivated and able to implement what you learn in your life after your intensive is over

What if I need more support after my intensive?

While the intensive provides a focused time away to jumpstart your progress and give you a framework to work from, there are times that ongoing counseling can be helpful for continued support and working through obstacles. You can always schedule additional intensive sessions with me or attend ongoing hourly therapy with another therapist after your intensive to help you as you implement changes in life. â€‹â€‹
